Abstract
This article is the result of the research “The irruption of the face between metaphors. Expression of the infinite in the other”. The objective of the research was to understand the meanings of otherness that English literature students give to literary characters who embody realities in a state of vulnerability through the metaphor as radical otherness of the Other. It is, then, an overlapping between different fields: on the one hand, a curricular pretext: the English literature course; on the other hand, the rupture of the strictly disciplinary field, to consider literature as a detonator of experiences of otherness; finally, an original conception of metaphor as radical otherness.
