Abstract
The article is a theoretical review that explores the potential of educational stylistics as a field of research, from two perspectives: 1) with the analysis of the presence of the concept of “style” as an educational research topic or problem in the last years within the Latin-American context, and 2) by means of the identification of the lines of educational research related to the concept of style, that has a promising future in the region. In the first case, the results of a bibliometric study, which was done using data-bases of regional scope, are reported. For the second case, thematic reviews that emphasize the directions of research on styles within the four more promising fields of recent development are presented: virtual or remote learning environments, teaching styles, examining instructional interventions and disability.
