Abstract

Jefferson Jaramillo, in his text Past and Present of violence in Colombia. Study on research commissions (1958-2011), unfolds his reflections around three milestones of these commissions: the Investigative Commission of the Causes of Violence (1958), the Commission of experts (1987) known as the "commission of violentologists" and the Memory Group Historical For the author, these commissions give meaning to the past of violence in where various stories are articulated in a series of narrative plots about what happened. Without However, for Jaramillo these commissions of different mandate, perspective and composition not only challenge the present but also serve as a reference for the construction of the future immediate from Colombia.
