Abstract
This volume of the Eleuthera Magazine is special for several reasons. The first one is due to the fact that it is a volume produced in the midst of an editorial process full of uncertainties and changes, fundamentally due to the new COLCIENCIAS policies for scientific journals in Colombia. Although these changes are intended to improve the quality of scientific publications, and especially their impact, it is difficult for journals and their work teams to adapt to the new requirements since many of them are intended for publications of natural and exact sciences. Magazines like ours, which are published in a public university in the province, with scarce resources and in the social and human sciences, will have little chance of being indexed according to the new model proposed by Publindex. These requirements have forced us to return in the editorial processes to try to adapt to the classification model (affecting our periodicity), taking into account the quality indicators and the expectations of visibility and impact that apparently will be the ones that will weigh the most in terms of indexing.
