Abstract
From my years as a systems engineering student I have been thinking about the way to combine artistic creation, with design and the computer. By asking myself, 20 years ago, how to make a program in the area of textile design, it allowed me to discover that, areas so apparently different as systems engineering, textile and the artistic workshops, generated important connections with each other. This idea permitted the vision of different and new possibilities to grow as an engineer. When 1985, I presented my undergraduate project,a requirement to obtain the title of systems and computation engineer in the Universidad de los Andes, in which I developed a system of CAD for flat weaves.
