Abstract

This text arises from the interest of making an approach to the experimental photography of the artist Geraldo de Barros, who explores analogous processes to convert computer code into images, this through the technology that at that time was within his reach that was photography. This study is made in an empirical-analytical approach based on media archeology, the goal was to create a hypermediation of one of Barros's photographs and generate one computer code that allows to replicate the image in digital format. As a result, was possible to generate the same image in a digital format, simulate the process of photographic development and the generation of sounds using the image. As conclusions emerge that Barros possibly used two perforated cards to generate the 2116 photograph and that for his time, Barros was a pioneer who tended bridges between two technologies that by that time still did not speak to each other: "photography and computing".
