Abstract
Multiculturalism and other models that have been adopted by many European countries for the reception of immigrant collectives, as well as their outcomes, are discussed in this essay. Considerations from political and social theory and some empirical examples are revised with the aspiration of evaluating the, announced by many, failure of multiculturalism.
