Breve recuento histórico de las mujeres colombianas en la ciencia y la ingeniería

Abstract

This paper emphasizes the achievements of Colombian women, who have paved their own way in Science or  Engineering. In order to show these facts, three historical periods are covered: (1) late 19th century (1870-1900), (2) early 20th  entury (1930 – 1950) and (3) late 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century (from 1950  until today). The article then presents the most relevant points of women’s participation in the previously  mentioned fields and the recognitions obtained, showing them as human beings who have made great  contributions to society.
