Abstract

Objective: To analyze the impact of uneven geographical development in the construction of territorial stigma based on the empirical expression that is set in the town of La Dorada, Caldas. Methodology: It was based on the fieldwork for which we used the semi-structured interview and observation, combined with the review and document analysis in order to triangulate the information. Results: The theoretical construction of the categories mentioned, and empirical findings in the field, allow us to understand the influence that the colonial and capitalist approach have on the development for building territorial stigmas that legitimize uneven geographical development. Conclusion: The territorial stigma that emerges from the uneven geographical development is not negative in itself, but a power that allows to redefine spaces and identities, manage institutional resources, sue the State and imagine strategies to bring to spatial justice.
