Abstract

This article talks about how working with families has been forgotten as part of the teacher’s duty. More than being a matter of individualism and willingness on behalf of the educators, it is a direct consequence of the lack  of concrete social policies in the educational field, in which the “family” is recognized as a scientific issue that  should be encompassed in the formation processes of teachers. Locating family issues within the teachers’  duty, from a political point of view, is regarded as a possible alternative in order to advance in the school-family  relationship as a strategy to stimulate the formation processes of children; with sensibly formed teachers as the basis for facing this social and constituent reality of schooling.
