Abstract
Since Thursday, November 21, 2019, the streets of the main Colombian cities have contained rivers of marchers gathered around as many nonconformities as problems dragged our country. During the previous days, a fear campaign began, via social networks, according to which vandals sponsored by "dark forces" would try to destroy the foundations of democracy. It was in this spirit of terror that the police riot squad, ESMAD, came out to intimidate and provoke protesters: they routinely launched tear gas, stun grenades, and "non-lethal projectiles." One of the latter was embedded in the skull, killing high school student Dilan Cruz, who was fleeing the police onslaught.
