Construcción de un indicador socioeconómico y espacial para el análisis del Desarrollo Económico Territorial del departamento del Meta (2005-2015)

Abstract

This article is the product of the exercise carried out (conceptually and methodologically) to Territorial Economic Development (TED) as a Development Dimension, through the analysis of statistical information available in the National Administrative Department of Statistics (2015), in relation to the crossing of different variables of a political, economic, social and geographical nature. The objective is to refer multidimensionally development as a social representation that goes beyond its economic scope. It is an exercise carried out in the 29 municipalities of the Department of Meta (Colombia) through different variables that represent attributes of the political, economic, social and geographical fields through the construction of a synthetic indicator that relates them. The variables are grouped in four (4) Dimensions and operated with each other. These Dimensions are normalized through the use of SPSS software to obtain the same number of dimensional indices: Political Dimension Index (IDiPo), Economic Dimension Index (IDiE), of the Social Dimension Index (IDiS) and of the Geographical Dimension Index ( IDiG), which in turn, are represented by giving a weight to each dimension (IDeMet by percentages) and, in addition, by the average of their final values (IDeMet by average). The results of the indices are represented and analyzed on the political-administrative map of the Department, identifying, on the one hand, a certain pattern in the geographic distribution of the index from the center to the departmental perimeter and, on the other hand, a reticular and network behavior of the territories that are produced in the last two decades, within the framework of the Territorial Economic Development of Meta.
