Abstract

Abstract:The present reflection is the result of research on the Adolescents’ Penal Responsibility System, in the Department of Caldas, Colombia. The study that was carried out by Universidad de Caldas and the Colombian Iinstitute for Family Well-being (Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar –ICBF) presents, from the connection of several voices, a social-cultural text about the relational metaphor between the legal, hegemonic order of the State and society, and the illegal and transgressor order. This metaphor presents an understanding about adolescents’ life experience who have committed criminal practices associated with this penal system between January 2008 and October 2010. The threshold that connects these two worlds links the production of stigmatizing and emblematic meanings which propose to face adolescents’ delinquency reality beyond the standardization of crimes.
