Abstract
Objective. To understand the dynamics of political and democratic transformation of cultural practices of young people from punk and thrash metal bands, as well as those who practice circus arts in two cultural centers (La Enea and San Jose) in the city of Manizales. Methodology. the qualitative method with an ethnographic approach and instrumental design case are drawn upon. Results. The research studies the daily interactions of young people to understand their group dynamics and identify their artistic expressions as collective actions in which alternative ways of production of a democratic political culture are recognized. Conclusion. By considering the relationship between politics and youth, it is evident how cultural centers have become scenarios of political rebuilding for a sector of vulnerable young people. Also, young people develop new ways to express their disagreement with different social situations through musical and esthetic production.
