Valoración económica de bienes y servicios ecosistémicos del yacimiento “4” en el municipio Moa, provincia Holguín, Cuba

Abstract

The economic assessment of ecosystem goods and services is of great importance in the national and international context as they allow knowing the value of environmental resources and changes in environmental quality which constitutes novel aspects of great importance in the research community for the execution and assessment of any project or environmental management, which favors the achievement of sustainable development. Consequently, the objective of this research is to economically assess the ecosystem goods and services in the deposit "4" in the Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara company (CECG) of the municipality of Moa, Holguín Province, Cuba, during the year 2020, through the method of valuation based-on-Market-Prices (MVBPM), the benefit transfer method (BTM), non-standard interviews with environmental specialists, foresters, biologists, and microbiologists, among others. As a result, the quantification in physical units of goods and services of the ecosystem in question is shown, in addition to the total economic value, which allows identifying the main environmental impacts once mining has begun which facilitates actions in search of reaching the necessary relationship between economic development and the preservation of the environment.
