Abstract
The author provides a historical and pharmacological view of Psilocybin as an introduction to an analysis of the current authorized research being carried out with this substance on human beings. Both, completed projects and projects in progress are included. A summary of the scientific studies published up to the present date is included, analyzing the most important conclusions which have been reached. A total of eleven studies are included, covering a wide variety of issues such as the use of Psilocybin as a therapeutic substance in the treatment of certain diseases; neuropsychological, physical and cognitive effects and the monitoring of experiments carried out during the sixties.
