Abstract
This article is a reflexive exercise based on the conceptualizations centered around culture, based on the point of view of contemporary social sciences' tendencies, principally anthropology. These tendencies have had an emphasis on the mobilization and naturalization of cultural referents by diverse ethnic groups, which has been classified as a mystification on numerous occasions. Therefore, it is proposed that the moral qualification of the identity-related mobilizations are closely connected to the political position assumed by the investigators regarding the construction and management projects set forth by the peripheral nation-states. In order to enlighten said hypothesis, the studies centered around the invention of tradition in Oceania and cultural hybridization in Latin America will be taken as examples.
