Objetivo: Analisar os fatores associados à satisfação vital em adultos maiores da Argentina, em 2012. Materiais e métodos: Utilizaram se dados da Enquete Nacional sobre Qualidade de Vida de Adultos Maiores ―ENCaViAM―. Analisou-se a satisfação vital e sua associação com as características sócio demográficas, condições de saúde, redes e uso do tempo livre, segundo sexo. Realizou-se análise multivariado a través de regressão logística. Resultados: As variáveis relacionadas com uma maior satisfação vital em homens e mulheres foram: maior idade; menor nível educativo; trabalhar como voluntaria(o) em uma organização da comunidade; participar de viagens e/ou passeios turísticos; reunir-se com amigos e oferecer ajuda a outras pessoas. As variáveis relacionadas com uma menor satisfação vital foram: Não conviver em casal; presentar deficiência visual e/ou auditiva; auto percepção de saúde negativa; diagnóstico de depressão. Adicionalmente, em mulheres, se observou uma maior satisfação vital se era aposentada ou pensionista; e em homens, realizar atividade física habitualmente; em mulheres se observou menor satisfação vital se tinha dependência e em homens se tinha auto percepção negativa de memória. Conclusões: Estes resultados são de importância para criar ou melhorar políticas tendentes a incidir na qualidade de vida subjetiva do adulto maior na Argentina e ampliar o corpo de conhecimentos em torno aos fatores que afetam a satisfação vital.
