Abstract
The notion of scientifc progress according to structuralism and its analysis of Kuhn's views on progress are studied in this paper. After a critical reading of the arguments of the structuralists, it is concluded that Kuhn believes in scientific progress but with different criteria than structuralists. Finally, the need for a new definition and comprehension of the notion of scientific
progress that incorporates cultural, social and ethical elements as well as logical, scientific and epistemological criteria is propounded.
