Abstract

This article seeks to present the experiences and work approaches that facilitators of expanded states of consciousness who accompany processes with LSD have. Recognizing that the accompaniment of this type of experiences is a practice that is increasing and that reduces the risks inherent to them, the desire arose to delve into these, providing a perspective from the point of view of the facilitators and considering the relevance of their role. This interest was strengthened when a lack of information of this type was identified. Qualitative research methodology from the epistemic position of psychology was used. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with four facilitators of expanded states of consciousness who accompany experiences with LSD in Antioquia. The information was analyzed and categorized using the ATLAS.ti software. The results indicated that the most relevant concepts for the facilitators are: consciousness, expanded states of consciousness, set & setting and death. They frame their practice based on a protocol which they nourish from their discipline and other knowledge, seeking to manage the set & setting that provides confidence and security. Their proposal shows an important therapeutic potential reflected in terms of mental health, habits change and spiritual connection. Being a facilitator is a life path of high commitment and constant relationship with expanded states of consciousness. It is recommended that research on this topic continues so that this practice is known, improves and achieves the possibility of having an impact on public health.
