Abstract
This exercise is ethnography of the power technologies –understood from a foucauldian approach about the body of the subject who consumes marihuana in public spaces. It can be said that neither Juan, nor Pedro could smoke a bareto in any street in the city because they know the immediate rejection they would be exposed. Here lies the importance of the parche: depersonalize the body as a tactic to face rejection, the reproach looks, and the judging mouths, so the parche is a cultural organization –which socially does not count with legitimacy- that is intervened by different technologies of a disciplinary power: complaint, surveillance, punishment, searches, and thus the parche becomes a way to face their application. The functioning of these technologies constitutes a social panopticism executed by the police and the common citizen on the public space which make visible and refute drug consumption. Then, on one side, there is a tactic use of culture and, on the other hand, some disciplinary technologies that fall back into the tactic above. Writing from an anthropologic perspective, it is important to ethnography this dispute so that politically it can be described how disciplinary technologies of power are exerted directly on the bodies; it is about ethnographing the power relationships in the simplest of daily routines which, sometimes, are analytically contemptible (such as the relationships between the police and the street consumers).
