Abstract
Objective: To state a conceptual schema about the addiction treatment and rehabilitation in protestant religion-based centers placed in Ciudad Juárez and to discuss the effectiveness of Christotherapy. Methodology: Documentary and ethnographic research developed over three alternate periods over the last decade, whose observation units were three rehabilitation centers. Results: I validated the implementation of nine prescientific techniques with many socio-psychological parallels. I also established the characteristics of the new communities and their importance in the process. Conclusions: Christotherapy is effective because I verified that for a decade an no quantified number of ex-addicts did not relapse. It is also an efficient treatment, as it implements a set of techniques for the rehabilitation of its users. It emphasizes efficiency when implementing the community of converts and traditional social networks to achieve their reintegration objectives, where women stand out as affective links of inmates in treatment.
