Abstract
This article is meant to be a general tour of the interpretative technique proposed by the method of William Layton and taught in the Theatre Laboratory of the same name, a tour as a personal tribute on the centenary of his birth.
It is not intended to undertake a thorough analysis of the method constituent elements, but to address them from the experience, my experience in its learning and subsequent creative and pedagogical practice, a tour that, while dealing with its fundamental aspects also included my view of it and some students view of this tool that I have been teaching in Colombia. Therefore it does not focus completely on the proposed systematic, because, as Mr. Layton would say, it is practice, the constant and disciplined work on its constituent elements which will give validity, according to each actor, to his method.
