Abstract

The subject of difference between sexes is on debate across different disciplines and has been at the center of the political discussion that led in Argentina to important legal modifications on the structure of kinship, on models of filiation, on family organization. It’s necessary to explore the conditions of the social bond, and to do it, Freud’s and Lacan’s teachings help question problems regarding a subject that psychoanalysis considers divided, and therefore not reducible to their conscious intentionality. In Buenos Aires, in 2017, an excellent play was presented, truly the theatrical event of the year, that shed some light on these issues: Millions of Seconds, by Diego Casado Rubio, at El Extranjero Theater. This paper reflects on the theatrical poetics and articulates the conceptual differences between sex, gender, sexuality and sexuation.
