RESUMEN: O objetivo do presente trabalho foi comparar os efeitos de diferentes doses da gonadotrofina coriônica equina (eCG) na dinâmica folicular e nas concentrações hormonais em cabras Alpinas. Para isto, submeteram-se estas fêmeas à sincronização do estro e da ovulação com um dispositivo interno contendo 0,3 g de progesterona durante 14 dias durante a estação reprodutiva. As fêmeas caprinas (n = 24) foram divididas aleatoriamente, em quatro grupos de seis animais. No dia da remoção do dispositivo, os animais receberam 0 (T1-Controle), 200 (T2), 300 (T3) e 400 UI de eCG (T4). O desenvolvimento folicular foi observado ultra- sonográficamente, iniciando um dia antes da administração da eCG até a seguinte ovulação. Determinaram-se, a cada dia as concentrações plasmáticas de E2 and P4 por RIA. As variáveis continuas foram avaliadas pela análise de variância seguindo os procedimentos GLM do pacote estatístico SAS. A comparação das médias realizou-se utilizando o Teste de tukey-kramer. A resposta ao estro para todos os grupos tratados foi do 100%. Observaram-se ciclos estrais com três e quatro ondas de crescimento folicular. O tamanho do folículo maior foi menor (P<0,01) em animais controle da onda 3 (5,5±0,50 mm) quando comparado com o tratamento 3 na mesma onda (7,17±0,35 mm). Os efeitos da eCG no crescimento folicular mostraram um aumento significativo na quantidade de folículos pequenos e médios (P<0,05) em relação ao grupo controle. A quantidade média de corpos lúteos foi superior (P<0,05) no T4 (400UI) que no T2 (200 UI) mostrando 4,27±0,23 vs 1,95±0,19 CL, respectivamente. Houve diferenças significativas nas concentrações plasmáticas de P4 (P<000,01) and E2 (P<0,001) entre os tratamentos. O uso do CIDR somado à injeção intramuscular de eCG foi efetivo na indução do estro, aumentou o recrutamento de folículos pequenos e acelerou o mecanismo de crescimento folicular em cabras Alpinas.
