Abstract

Abstract: The article presents the overall results of qualitative research carried out in the transactional environment with Colombian migrants in the Valencia community (Spain) whose families reside in the Colombian Coffee Triangle. The goal of this research was to establish how the families maintain intra-family relationships when one of the parents or both migrate. The article accounts for restructuration processes in the family dynamics, especially in the relationship of the migrant with two actors in the
country of origin: the caretaker and the children, which entail the generation of new strategies, practices and agreements that allow them all to assume the new family reality with the purpose to keep the already existing parental bonding.
