Una aproximación al problema de la acción

Abstract

The text shows that if in orfer to explain what an action is, one must distinguish between events that depend on voluntary acts and events that depend on natural causes, then the notion of action reveals que frequently we acept a pair of beliefs that are contradictory. The belief that we are agents who cause behaviors in the world and our belief that every state in the world must be preceeded by an event that causes it, are shown to be inconsistent when we use them to clarify what an action is.
