El artículo revisa las aplicaciones del mindfulness en la mediación de conflictos. Se estableció el estado del conocimiento mediante la metodología de revisión bibliográfica mixta, con análisis bibliométrico y codificación de publicaciones indexadas en Scopus. Estas provienen de áreas como la medicina, la psicología y el derecho, para conformar un campo interdisciplinar emergente con enfoques teóricos orientales y occidentales. Los primeros sirven para gestionar emociones negativas de las contrapartes y sesgos del mediador; los segundos para identificar intereses comunes e idear soluciones ante conflictos ciudadanos, familiares, corporativos y sociopolíticos. Así, se trasciende del imaginario del abogado como “gladiador” al de “constructor de
paz”. Bajo tales hallazgos, se recomienda realizar estudios empíricos sobre el grado de apertura ante la aplicación del mindfulness en la mediación; asimismo, promover la formación en mindfulness para abogados, profesionales de áreas afines y mediadores comunitarios en tanto constructores de paz en contextos sociales de alta conflictividad.
