Objetivo: Analisar os programas de promoção e prevenção que tem sido utilizado para a abordagem da obesidade infantil, desde três aspectos: modalidades, estratégias e atores envolvidos; em pro da geração de respostas a esta problemática de saúde pública. Métodos: Revisão sistemática de estudos desenvolvidos em 14 países entre 2007 a 2013, publicados em cinco bases de dados –LILACS, IBECS, PubMed, Cochrane e SciELO–. Utilizaram se os términos MeSH –Health Promotion - Obesity - Children– e equações de busca tanto em inglês como em espanhol. Resultados: Encontraram se 1030 artigos, dos quais 48 cumpriram com todos os critérios de inclusão. Nestes se identificaram quatro tendências: diagnóstico (6 artigos), intervenção (39 artigos), custo- efetividade dos programas (1 artigo) e políticas públicas (2 artigos). Conclusões: Existem diferentes programas de promoção e prevenção da obesidade, os quais têm abordado estratégias que incluem a pratica da atividade física, orientações nutricionais, processos educativos e abordagens integrais, à vez estes tem vinculado distintos atores, entre eles, pais, docentes, organizações de saúde agentes políticos; apesar disso, ainda não se tem logrado desenhar um programa generalizável já que guardam uma estreita relação com os padrões culturais de cada região.
