Resumen
En el presente artículo defiendo que Kuhn fue un historicista en dos aspectos: primero, fue un conservador en el sentido de Mannheim –la tradición es importante para comprender el cambio científico y la evaluación de una idea científica es relativa al contexto histórico–; segundo, Kuhn respaldó el determinismo –hay un modelo de cambio científico, similar a las leyes del desarrollo científico–. Planteo que el determinismo de Kuhn requiere que él sea un internalista acerca de las causas del cambio científico; y que su internalismo contrasta con el externalismo que caracteriza buena parte de los estudios de la ciencia post-kuhnianos. Concluyo considerando cómo se relaciona el historicismo de Kuhn con los propósitos filosóficos de la historia de la ciencia kuhniana.
