Notas taxonómicas sobre el género Pronophila doubleday con la descripción de cuatro nuevas subespecies de Pronophila unifasciata lath y (Nymphalidae: Satyrinae: Pronophilini).

Abstract

The morphology of adult Pronophila (Lepdioptera, Nymphalildae, Satyrinae) is briefly discussed. The conclusion is that phyletically interesting features are found basically in  the wing's colour pattern. Other morphological structures, in particular male genitalia, are highly homogeneous thus of lesser taxonomical value. Four new subspecies of Pronophila unifasciata are described: deceptoria n. ssp., eugeni n. ssp., antioquiana mn. ssp. and kennethi nm. ssp.
