Abstract

Four new subspecies of butterfiles belonging to the subtribe Pronophilina (Nymphalidae, Satyrinae, Satyrini) from the Tambito forest reserve in the Colombian Western Cordillera are described and illustrated: Corades chelonis rectilinea n. ssp., Panyapedaliodes drymaea atropulla n. ssp.. Pedaliodes peucestas magnifica n. ssp. y Pronophila epidipnis cana n. ssp. Two lectotypes are designated. Some identification errors from previous works on the pronophiline fauna of Tambito are corrected, particularly the new report of Praepronophila petronius, previously mistaken for P. perperna.
