Abstract

We recorded the presence of 12 Andean Owl monkey (Aotus lemurinus) groups in 9 forest patches in the Cauca river basin, between 970 y 2056 m of elevation. The Owl monkeys inhabited forest patches of variable size, from 1.5 to more than 2000 ha. Group size varied between 3 and 5 individuals, with an average of 3.8. the Andean Owl Monkey seems to be able to inhabit small, disturbed forest patches, even in the proximity of human communities.
