Abstract

Based on the: samples from the Pardo-Locarno Family Collection, the Prionocalus demelti Quentin & Villiers diagnosis is examined, a Prioninae long— horned beetle endemic of Colombia. Illustrations and descriptions of the female, which was not documented by its descriptors, are presented. Additionally, data on its distribution in Colombia, as well as P. cacicus White in Ecuador is given. Finally, systematic aspects regarding the genus and the species” conservation are commented.
