Abstract

“Actorial perception” is an introductory course given during the first semester of the acting program at the Universidad Catolica de Chile. Its objective is to conduct research and define the basis of the different fields in which the art of acting is immersed. It comprehends a methodologically designed experience, being the first place the students arrive at with their expectations, needs and previous experiences. “Actorial perception” is seen as the actor’s learning process of the physical and emotional bases, as well as the understanding and participation of the theatrical planet and its different perspectives.
In the course, the student faces the perception of realness as a fundamental and antecedent element of fiction, framed in a training process in two ways: the “self” of the young actor and the social-real reality. The artistic creation is taken into account from the sensorial perception and the organic experience of reality, which is manipulated in order to enter the realm of fictionality
