Abstract
A new species of Pedaliodes, P. franzi n. sp., is described from central Peru, and it is dedicated to Franz Thamm, a German explorer and one of the pioneers of the Peruvian lepidoprology. Its possible affinities are analyzed, reaching the conclusion that it is not closely related to any Peruvian congener
